What We Believe

We believe that . . .
You may be interested to know, as a Church Family, what we believe.
The following statements are just that – they are statements of faith.
They are the basis of what we believe.
We believe much more than these statements.
Each statement would need to be explained more fully.
Coming to Church enables us to learn more about the Christian faith
as well as how to grow in our relationship with God
through Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.
So, we believe that . . .
●        The one true and living God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
●        The Bible is the written Word of God
and is fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
●        All people are made in God's image.
●        All people are called to a relationship with God.
●        All people are to love, to be holy and to care for creation.
●        All people fall short of the glory of God – this is called sin.
●        God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ was born to the Virgin Mary.
●        Jesus was and is both truly God and truly human, yet without sin.
●        Jesus died on the cross in our place paying the price our sin deserves
and overcoming the power of sin and death, so opening the way to
          a wonderful relationship with God.
●        Jesus rose again from the dead proving his victory
          over death for all time.
●        Human beings are rescued from the penalty
          of sin and (eternal) death
by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
●        The work of God’s (Holy) Spirit is to lead us to Jesus
and to enable us to grow in our relationship with God
          through Jesus Christ.
●        The Church is the people of God gathered to worship Him
through Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
●        His people are to tell others the Good News of Jesus
and to promote justice and love in society.
●        The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ
will fulfill the purposes of God
and that He will establish a new heaven and new earth.
